ASOEF logoAlpha Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, was chartered in 1930.  The Chapter includes nearly 200 graduate sorority members in the Columbus area.    Mrs. Judith Cunningham is the Chapter President.  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the first Greek Sorority founded by African-American women in 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC. Today, this national service organization is comprised of over 185,000 college-trained women from around the world. ASOEF, founded by members of Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter, is a charitable organization founded for the express purpose of encouraging and assisting individuals in achieving educational excellence.  In conjunction with  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter, the Foundation also hosts the annual Scholar’s Tea, a program that recognizes over 1,500 middle school students with high academic achievements, awards scholarships to local high school seniors, and mentors high school girls through our AKAdette program.  The Foundation also provides college preparation workshops for students & parents and provides school supplies to needy elementary students with school supply drives.
